Kawhi Leonard had 25 points and scored the go-ahead dunk after a steal with 15.1 seconds remaining as the Toronto Raptors defeated his former team, the visiting San Antonio Spurs, 120-117 Friday night.
Former Raptor DeMar DeRozan had 23 points and eight assists in his first game in Toronto since his offseason trade to the Spurs.
Pascal Siakam added 22 points while Serge Ibaka had 13 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, Kyle Lowry and Danny Green each scored 17 points, and Jeremy Lin added 11 off the bench for Toronto.
Marco Belinelli added 21 points on five 3-pointers for the Spurs, Davis Bertans had 16 points, Patty Mills scored 15, and Rudy Gay had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Toronto coach Nick Nurse was ejected in the third quarter after picking up two technical fouls.
DeRozan received a standing ovation after a video tribute was played on the scoreboard during a first-half timeout. He was traded with Jakob Poeltl and a 2019 first-round pick to the Spurs for Leonard, Green and cash.
The Spurs, who led after the third quarter, were ahead by five early in the fourth. Toronto stormed back to take a six-point lead on OG Anunoby's 3-pointer with about six minutes left.
The Spurs came back to lead by one on two free throws by Bertans with 1:36 remaining. After a Siakam put-back gave the Raptors a one-point lead, the Spurs went back on top on Belinelli's 3-pointer with 44.9 seconds left.
Ibaka made one of two free throws before Leonard forced a steal off DeRozan and scored the go-ahead dunk to put Toronto ahead by one. Leonard added two free throws in the final second.
Toronto led 26-23 after the first quarter.
The score was tied four times during the second quarter with each team leading by as many as six. The Spurs led 56-55 at halftime on a driving layup by Mills with 21 seconds remaining.
The Raptors had a seven-point lead when Leonard made one of two free throws with 5:38 left in the third quarter.
The Spurs charged ahead by one point when Belinelli made a layup and free throw, then hit one of two technical foul shots with 3:33 to play in the third. After the foul called was called on Green, Nurse had been tagged with two technical fouls and was ejected.
The Spurs led 91-88 after three quarters.
In his first game against the Raptors on Jan. 3 in San Antonio, DeRozan had his first career triple-double to help the Spurs to a 125-107 victory.
